MBody Strength, an Orange County based unconventional fitness company, has announced a beginner kettlebell workshop called the Kettlebell Training 101 Workshop. The event date is Saturday, January 9, 2010 and will be held from 10:30AM to 12:30PM. For anyone new to kettlebell training, the special workshop promises to be the perfect way to get into kettlebell training.

“A lot of people will be getting kettlebells for Christmas, or trying to get into shape for the New Year using kettlebell training,” stated Marcus Martinez, MBody Strength’s founder and member. “We’d like to give people the opportunity to learn proper form for kettlebell training.”

Kettlebell training has variety of benefits that go beyond simple muscle development and fat loss (even though kettlebell training is good for that too). Because of the dynamic, ballistic exercises involved in kettlebell training, users can gain power, strength, speed, flexibility, and endurance more quickly and efficiently than ever before. Better yet, the strength gained through kettlebell training is functional strength; in other words, strength gained through kettlebell training is applicable to daily life in a way that traditional weight lifting could never be.

Each exercise in kettlebell training involves multiple muscle groups throughout the body. The kettlebell swing, for example (one of the exercises that will be taught during the kettlebell workshop) involves your hamstrings, glutes, back, shoulders, and grip. Not to mention your heart and lungs have to work much harder to pump blood and oxygen into all of those muscles during kettlebell training. The efficiency of the kettlebell training exercises means you’re burning fat and calories constantly.

With kettlebell training, proper form is vitally important to receive the maximum benefit from each kettlebell exercise and avoid muscle and joint injury. Even the slightest variation from proper form can cause problems when repeated many times. Attendees will learn the principles of proper form that will allow them to gain the most from kettlebell training and protect themselves from injury.

Attendees of the kettlebell training workshop will learn the essential exercises that will get them on track with kettlebell training, including the Swing, Clean, Snatch, Windmill, Overhead Squat, and Turkish Get Up.

One of MBody Strength’s main focuses is to make people independent when it comes to personal fitness, that’s why a portion of the kettlebell training workshop is dedicated to showing attendees how to construct their own workouts. Whether they want to build muscle, burn fat, increase conditioning, or maximize strength and power, attendees will learn how to create a workout to accomplish their goals.

“If you’re really looking to get results with kettlebell training, do yourself a favor and learn how to use them properly,” said Marcus Martinez. “We have several more workshops and seminars planned for the future as well.”
