The true acoustic rock and blues guitar music is a thing of the past.
No longer are the days when you hear upcoming guitar stars and music hero's that can play solid lead and rhythm guitar in world class rock, jazz or blues concert.
And no longer do you hear those great rock,blues or jazz scorching electric guitar solos that the greats of the past where capable of playing on the guitar neck.
The lack of real music information and music theory about the guitar fret board has left a huge hole in the music Industry. Many of todays guitarist can hardly strum a guitar let alone excite a crowd.
With the lack of solid young guitarist in the world today, only Blues Guitarist John Mayer's name stands out as a great young guitarist.
But great young guitar players like John Mayer are one in a billion so the question is who will be the next great guitar player? Where will the future of music go and the future of guitar be heading?

It's my feeling that no young guitarist today, can stand up to the likes of the greats form the past, I'm also not saying they can't, it's just the fact that we need more teachers to help broaden the knowledge of music. Then watch the younger guitarist and musicians grow. I am not trying to put down anyone, I am sounding an alarm....We need the future of music to grow again in this country.
Many schools nation wide, no longer offer guitar lessons or even music courses since the 1980's, because of lack of state and national funding which has cause music programs to suffer.
Schools can't afford to pay music teachers, schools can't afford sound equipment and guitar amps.
Some schools can't afford marching band anymore !!
Many people go online and try to learn to play music by getting free guitar lessons , and free guitar chording and guitar tab instructions.
Today there's even interactive guitar teaching online.
But how good are the guitar lessons.
Is the music in the USA and world wide changing because of a lack of top music teachers available anymore?
Many guitar teachers who use to teach private guitar lessons can no longer afford to teach music lessons because of a bad economy , instead they are working jobs anywhere they can.
The sad truth is the greatest guitar players alive today are in their mid 60's or older, like Eric Clapton, Santana, Buddy Guy, George Benson ,B.B. King or they have already passed away like Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix and other I won't mention.

GW Williams - As a guitarist, I really feel sad that music is going in a direction it has for a few years.
Much of the music styles today,are easy listening folk styles, yet they do not challenge the artistic abilities of superior talented and gifted artist.
Great artist need to expand and grow, advancing to rock,blues and then jazz and classical music.
Great musicians need music theory training and need to learn guitar techniques that just can't be taught online for free. I have seen these lessons online and many guitar lesson sites offer music lessons without no real solid structure. I am shocked and amazed that people follow these web sites. It's like the blind leading the blind.
I feel that without the top teachers,teaching in schools, music is suffering a great injustice.
There still are a few schools offering great programs but not many. The main reason is the money or funding just is not there.
I myself have taught music for free to under privileged children a few years ago.
My advice to anyone wanting to become a musician,guitarist or singer , is to find a great teacher, and to learn to be creative on your guitars or instruments.
Buy the best books and information on learning to read music.
And to learn chording, guitar scales, moveable scale patterns,music theory,left and right hand movments and then become creative and inventive on guitar writing music and making up guitar licks and ect, that no one has heard before.
In my style of playing guitar I sometimes play rhythm ,lead and bass guitar all at once and I do this combining my knowledge of music theory from rock, jazz, blues and classical guitar styles.
In other words in all my songs you'll hear rock, blues, jazz and even classical.
It took me years to create this new style. I am also a song writer and publisher. I own a recording studio. I have done everything I can to succeed in music. I have done tons of concerts also.
One last word I'd like to mention, if you're going to learn to play guitar, be the best you - that you can be.
Try not to copy others but play an inventive style of your own. Sure at first you msut learn from others, but what I am saying as your music grows, develop your own style.
Playing guitar this way breathes new life into music.
