Homeservice Club of Canada
PRLog (Press Release) -

Homeservice Club of Canada has recently launched it's new website in order to provide their users with an easy-to-use interface.
In the previous page provided by Homeservice Club of Canada seen here:
http://web.archive.org/web/20080822143206/http://www.home... the links were not extremely visible due to the clutter of the page. Links were also drop down menus, which many senior searchers (often the biggest market for home renovations during the day time aside from stay at home wives) did not were drop down. In a newsletter format website, the small snippet below or next to each image should be organized appropriately, but since the website was created by notepad (prior to the release of dreamweaver)
, it was outdated in code and CSS.
For a home renovation website to be truly successful, the proper ingredients must be in place. A website dedicated to home improvement must have leads to pages describing their guarantee policies, contractor listings (or how to find their contractors)
, membership sign ups, home coupon deals, and so forth.
According to Joseph Lifschitz, IT manager of Homeservice Club of Canada, the renewed design change has increased their Google Analytics bounce rate significantly;
"Prior to changing our web design, for the past few years our bounce rate has been hovering at around 60% rate from both direct and search engine searches, today, however, we are looking at nearly a 30% drop to the 30%-40% zone in terms of bounce rate. We highly recommend any website considering optimizing themselves for search engines and appeasing direct searchers' eye candy should undergo a web design change."
Lastly, the competition is getting stronger. With more home renovation websites focusing their marketing efforts toward their home renovation tax credit relief program, it is wise for companies to consider other small changes to gain a competitive advantage in any area, especially when it comes to brand loyalty and making your website easy and accessible.
