Oakton, VA — Mosaic Harmony, an interfaith, multicultural community choir based in Northern Virginia, has been selected to perform for patients of Manor Care Bethesda on Sunday, January 24 at 4:00pm. The full concert will feature selections from the choir’s wide-ranging repertoire as well as some original songs penned by the choir’s director. Performing at the facility will be the first for the choir and they anticipate patients, their family members and facility staff to be in the audience, many who may not have heard the choir perform before.
Sean D. Boyd, a long-standing member of the choir, coordinated the concert and has first-hand accounts of the joy seen in patients after hearing music that is uplifting and encouraging. “I’m certain that the patients of the facility will enjoy a concert from the choir, especially after the holidays and I was thrilled when we were able to secure a date on the performance calendar. Considering many members of the choir are active seniors, it gives the patients encouragement to return to activities once enjoyed before coming to Manor Care,” says Boyd who sings in the tenor section of the choir.
The choir has most recently performed for audiences at Goodwin House of Alexandria and Riderwood of Silver Spring with great success in bringing smiles and encouragement to their patients and residents. “I have always seen music as a bridge to reaching people and we especially love performing for senior audiences”, says Mosaic Harmony director David North.
