Record numbers of Brits will escape the cold snap and take their Christmas holidays overseas with Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt leading the way according to lowcostholidays.com, the low cost holiday experts, who will be sending over 10,000 holidaymakers away this week. Bookings to the popular Red Sea resort have increased by 125% since last year with more than 1,800 customers heading there this week alone.
Top selling Christmas holiday destinations include Egypt, Tenerife, Lanzarote and Costa Blanca. Bookings to New York, Florida and Mexico have also proved popular over Xmas.
Commenting on these figures, lowcostholidays.com CEO Paul Evans said, “Sharm El Sheikh has proved to be the hit of our year as a non Euro destination with a wide range of great value all-inclusive hotels and guaranteed sunshine all year round. We’re already seeing bookings for Sharm next summer up over 200% compared to the same time last year.”
