Follow on Google News | Caribbean Webcaster Expands Into Radio Broadcasting MarketA Caribbean webcasting company is maximizing the use of Information Technology to enhance and expand the delivery of high quality current affairs content to radio stations in the Caribbean, United States and elsewhere.
By: Caribbean News Talk Webcasting/Demerara Waves It's latest success has been its entry on the airwaves of the beautiful island of St.Lucia on Saturday, December 19, 2009. CNTW/DW teamed up with the newly-established St.Lucian radio station- Caribbean Harmony- to bring listeners there the weekly radio programme, Periscope. From its studio in Georgetown, Guyana; Periscope was hosted by veteran Caribbean journalist and broadcaster, Denis Chabrol, and also featured CNTW/DW's in-house political analyst, Lloyd King. The focus of that discussion- Is Power Sharing The Ultimate Solution to Guyana's Governance Problem? Caribbean Harmony's owner, Lionel Ellis expressed satisfaction with the high quality of the broadcast and said that he was looking forward to the programme being made available to his station every Saturday at 6:00PM Guyana & Eastern Caribbean Time (22:00 HRS GMT/UTC). CNTW/DW's entry on St. Lucia's airwaves represents its continual growth and development as a leading regional provider of current affairs radio programming and other content for regional consumption. Plans are currently moving apace for CNTW/DW to enter the United States market, aimed at bridging the gap between the Caribbean and Caribbean peoples in the Diaspora. Earlier this month, CNTW/DW attracted sponsorship from Trinidad Cement Limited (TCL), one of the region's biggest businesses, to webcast the year-end news conference of the Caribbean Community (Caricom) headquarters to radio stations, news agencies, newspapers and the wider public in and out of the Caribbean. Journalists from the English and French Caribbean were given an opportunity to ask Caricom decision-makers questions and get them answered immediately in a cost-effective manner. CNTW/DW has been previously contracted by the Governments of both Barbados and Guyana to webcast events for broadcast across the region.
