Jordanian community in Qatar celebrated Qatar’s national day

Dec. 19, 2009 - PRLog -- As a part of series of events to commemorate national day of Qatar Dr. Naseer Homoud who is also Goodwill Ambassador and Director of Middle East office for the Intergovernmental Institution for the use of Micro-algae Spirulina against Malnutrition (IIMSAM), the Permanent Observer to the United Nations Economic and Social Council organized an event at Gloria hotel in Doha, where several attendees participated, majority of them from Jordan. On this august occasion Dr. Homoud congratulated State of Qatar on its historic national day.  While addressing the gathering to celebrate national day Dr. Homoud said “the national day of Qatar is valuable in the heart of each person both citizens and expatriates who is blessed with opportunity to be in this beloved country. We are proud on this day and to be a part of this country, which reflect the spirit of our values to this great nation”.

Dr. Homoud while urging the gathering to mark the occasion with great pride and honor contended that Qatar is life line for all of us and the sense of belongness to this great nation is intensive and there is no denying the fact that each and every person who resides in this country loves this great nation from core of heart.

This day- 18th of December of each year is so valued to us and on this day we pay our homage to the architect of modern Qatar Sheikh Jassim Bin Thani who with his great vision and vibrant leadership laid the foundation of Qatar as a country with great diversity.
The path of success of Qatar is attributed to unity of Qatar and respect which it derives from each corner. Dr. Homoud congratulated His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar on this occasion and said that we all are proud of the success which Qatar has accomplished under the vibrant leadership of HH The Emir and prayed for his good health and prolong success in every sphere be it political, social or economical. “The foundations of Qatar are built on great sense of unity and the nation as a whole is testimony of the same” he said while addressing the gathering present to mark the occasion. He also extended his congratulations to the Heir Apparent His Highness Sheikh Tamim and Her Highness Sheikha Mouzah and wished good health and long life for all of them for continued success of Qatar and welfare of the community.

Qatar has undoubtedly emerged as leader in several spheres. The task of humanitarian work and support to the organizations based in Qatar from the government under high patronage of the Emir is something which is unrivaled and unparalleled in its context. The vision of liberalization of Qatar paved the way for marvelous success and at the same times moral, cultural and traditional values of society and the principles of Islam are upheld without compromising in any aspect.

Qatar has achieved success in very spectrum and this is only possible because of visionary leadership of His Highness the Emir. The support to humanity works, developing educational infrastructures, bringing Qatar to recognition of world community in such a short span of time denotes the sincerity and will of government of Qatar. The country has offered precious support to World’s economic and social development and tremendously worded for the upliftment of society.

The gathering joined hands with main celebrations of national day and prayed for continued success of Qatar. While lauding the efforts of Qatar in extending its helping hands to the deprived and marginalized peoples all over the world Dr. Naseer said “ the establishment of organizations like Qatar Foundation, Aspire academy and ROTA among others itself defines and outlines the strategy of Qatar to restore the rights of marginalized people. I have no words to express my thanks and gratitude to Qatar and I urge other nations of the region to follow the suit”. Qatar’s emergence as defender of human rights, shifting towards to organized democratic society based on the concept of egalitarianism is itself exemplary and extra ordinary.

Dr. Homoud also lauded Qatar- Jordan relationships. The heads of both the country have made official visits to both countries and have signed bi- lateral agreements and a number of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has also been announced. Qatar has pledged to invest in Jordan. Speaking further Dr. Homoud said “as a Jordanian living in Qatar I feel myself privileged and honored to be part of this great country”.

While attending the gathering many participants mentioned that Qatar has been able through a few years of world attention and has achieved a rapid and progressive steps at the level of development and modernization, economic growth was accompanied by a permanence and undoubtedly the support of Qatar to humanitarian work be it in Lebanon or Gaza is indeed praiseworthy.
