Follow on Google News | Congressional Candidtate Wardell Would Like To Amend The U.S. Constitution. Equal Treatment of LawMichael Wardell, small business owner, retired Marine, and Republican candidate for Missouri’s 7th Congressional District, today issued the following statement:
Contact: Michael Wardell Dec. 23, 2009 417-714- The dangerous precedent, that both the Senate and the House of Representatives are proposing in the health care bill, i.e. that the Legislative branch of our government is exempt from the very laws that they produce, must be stopped immediately. If not, the precedent could be used and argued that they are also exempt from paying income taxes for example. Therefore I would like to start the National debate on the following proposed amendment to the U.S. Constitution. "Congress shall make no law that applies to any citizen of the United States that does not apply equally to the President, The Supreme Court or any/all US Senators and Representatives, and Congress shall also make no law that applies to the President, the Supreme Court or any/all US Senators or Representative that does not apply equally to all citizens of the United States. All existing laws and regulations that do not meet these criteria shall be declared null and void ex post facto." Wardell has a blog at: http://blog.wardellforcongress.com/ where this debate can begin. Michael Wardell is a retired veteran of the United States Marine Corps, serving in Japan and Africa with the Department of State. Wardell is married with two children. www.wardellforcongress.com # # # Michael Wardell is a retired and disabled US Marine Vet. who is running for US Congress on the Republican Ticket. End
