Estate Agents 'Go Green'

Property portal NetMovers is the first property website to offer house search facilities based on energy efficiency. This comes as Alistair Darling plans to give homeowners a financial incentive to "go green".

Dec. 18, 2009 - PRLog -- NetMovers will launch the facility by the end of February 2010 and are currently comparing the Energy Performance Certificates of all properties on its site. Property will be listed using an 'Energy Rating' from 'A' to 'G', and a corresponding colour from green to red.
Rick Jones, Operations and Development Executive of NetMovers said: "We choose everyday objects for their energy rating such as light bulbs or washing machines, hoping to save a few pence as well as the environment."
"So we believe our users should have the opportunity to view property by its efficiency. It is our individual responsibility to do everything within our power to reduce our contribution to global warming, but at the end of the day the facility will be there for people to use and we will see if it is popular or not."
As the fastest growing online property portal, NetMovers are hoping this green attitude will be welcomed by the property market. Adopting a green attitude will help reduce carbon emissions and encourage the public to adopt a healthy attitude when it comes to buying and selling houses.
