Despite the suggestion of super-producers, Cool and Dre, to utilize a "slight autotune to brighten the vocals a bit", E.Que Soul stays true to his God given talent.
His determination and dedication is reflective of the young toddler in the 80's that sang with a soul that embodied the spirit of his hometown hero Michael Jackson, his biggest musical influence, along with the suffering of a young teen living in a dark city plagued with crack, murder, and abandoned buildings. This combination is fuel for the fire that provides the versatility of this remarkable pop artist. This is also the knife that splits E.Que Soul into two, giving way for ILLSWITCH to expose the effects of the rougher edges of life in Gary through his rap verses.
His undeniable 'ladies man' appearance falls just short of clean-cut and polished, with a ten year old tattoo on his right shoulder of a self drawn G.I. logo (for Gary, Indiana) that symbolizes strength and a reminder of where he comes from. E.Que says, "Growing up in Gary prepares you for anything. For some people, Gary, Indiana can break you. For others, it could make you...if you find the strength. The Jacksons found that strength through their music and a strong family foundation."
