HUDSON, FL - The Cooperative Extension Service will present a Green Solutions Expo at Veteran’s Memorial Park on Saturday, January 9, 2010, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Visitors at the event can discover practical ways to live green without spending a lot of money. The expo is free and open to the public.
The expo is scheduled to have educational displays, informative demonstrations, and a tradeshow featuring the latest in green products and services from local businesses.
A limited supply of free pine tree seedlings, reusable grocery bags, compost, compact fluorescent bulbs, and other green products will be distributed.
An Arbor Day tree planting will kick off the event. Lady Bug releases, youth activities, and light refreshments round out the event at the Veteran’s Memorial Park, 14333 Hicks Road, Hudson.
In addition, Pasco County will accept the following household items from residents:
Mercury containing devices such as thermometers and thermostats
Dry cell batteries (AA, AAA, C, D)
Televisions-
A $5 Publix gift card (Courtesy of Covanta Pasco) will be given to the first 300 vehicles bringing in mercury containing devices
