announces the addition of Dean Hill, ASLA, CGP to its project management team. Hill is a full member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and holds a Certified Green Professional (CGP) designation from the National Association of Homebuilders (NAHB). As “Green Dean,” an Emmy-nominated Internet video personality, and as an award-winning landscape designer/TV host for DIY Networks’ Grounds for Improvement, Hill brings more than 15 years of experience in the landscape design/construction and home improvement industry with a sustainability emphasis.
Hill’s background boasts an extensive list of accomplishments. Additionally, Hill has contributed to or been featured in a variety of industry publications and blogs, including Landscape Architecture, Martha Stewart Living, RealSimple.com and HGTV.com.
In his new role with greenscreen®
, Dean will help to increase the manufacturer’
s presence among new and familiar audiences through social media, Internet video and additional technologies. He will also help to formulate the environmental policy of the product and business.
“Because green walls are still in the early stages of product specification, the possibilities for this technology to cool buildings, clean the air, sequester carbon, create wildlife habitat and filter stormwater are only now being realized,” voices Hill. “This is a great opportunity to be involved with issues like Sustainable Design, Environmental Product Disclosures and Life Cycle Assessments while learning from a leader in green wall research and development.”
greenscreen®
is based in Los Angeles and manufactures a unique three-dimensional, welded wire trellising system that functions as a non-intrusive natural building element, creating a captive growing space for plants. greenscreen®
green walls contribute to increased building energy efficiency by functioning as a natural exterior shading system, reducing heat build-up indoors.
“greenscreen®
is committed to doing the right thing with as small a footprint as possible and without compromising the quality of the product,” Hill expresses. “They’re willing to walk the walk and talk the talk, and I’m looking forward to being part of that.”
Dean Hill is available for interviews and can address specific questions on green wall design and the benefits of incorporating the technology into green building and landscape systems. To learn more about greenscreen®
