FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - Local Hardee’s restaurants raised more than $6,000 for the Patriot Foundation with a first time fundraiser for the organization. The Patriot Foundation raises funds to support children of military families and provides college scholarships to children of Fort Bragg soldiers.

During a month-long, in-store fundraiser beginning in early October, guests were able to purchase a $1 Patriot Foundation Card and receive a coupon sheet good for future visits. All of the proceeds raised at the 24 participating Fayetteville, Lumberton and Sanford-area Hardee’s were donated directly to the Patriot Foundation.

“The Patriot Foundation is extremely grateful for the role that Hardee’s restaurants have played this year in helping us support the families of soldiers at Ft. Bragg,” said Chuck Deleot, chairman of the Patriot Foundation. “We look forward to a long partnership with Hardee’s as we continue to assist the magnificent men and women who are serving and dying to protect our freedoms.”

The Patriot Foundation provides educational scholarships that support children of 82nd Airborne soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, serving soldiers of the 18th Airborne Corps, as well as children of current, retired, and former Army Special Operations soldiers. They have also funded scholarships for more than 270 children since 2003.

“We appreciate the support of our customers for families of our soldiers,” said Jerry Allsbrook, chief marketing officer for Boddie-Noell Enterprises, whose franchise restaurants participated in the fundraiser. “Hardee’s is honored to support military families and since our first restaurant opened in Fayetteville more than 40 years ago we have enjoyed a strong partnership with the military community.”
