The IJIS Institute, a nonprofit organization that focuses on mission-critical information sharing for justice, public safety, and homeland security, attended the highly-regarded, annual, invitation-only Cisco Public Services Summit 2009, co hosted with the City of Stockholm, Sweden. Representing the voice of industry in the United States, Paul Wormeli, executive director of the IJIS Institute, attended the invitation-only event, noting that, “It is my sincere hope to continue with the dialog about how we can bring international information sharing to a new level to combat the many serious forms of crime that are truly beyond the capacity of any single nation to address.”
The Cisco 8th Annual Public Services Summit 2009 was held in Stockholm and Oslo during the same time period when the Nobel Prize events were taking place, December 9-11, 2009. The theme of this year’s event was, “Connect to the future: Innovating in challenging times.”
