Emerald Group Publishing Limited has announced an agreement with Knovel, an online resource that helps engineers find reliable technical information faster. In total, 11 titles from Emerald’s Transport portfolio will be accessible through Knovel’s online database.
In July 2009, Knovel launched a transportation subject area to help engineering firms define, scope and implement ‘shovel ready’ projects. Knovel’s transportation subject area includes technical information engineers need for the design, construction and upgrade of transportation systems and infrastructure for air, rail, coastal areas, offshore, and on the road. Among the 11 titles provided by Emerald are two of the highly acclaimed Handbooks edited by David Hesher, from the University of Sydney, and Kenneth Button, from George Mason University: Handbook of Transport Geography and Spatial Systems and Handbook of Transport Systems and Traffic Control. Also included is Shipping Company Strategies by Peter Lorange.
“Our partners collectively ensure engineers worldwide have access to the best information available, and we are pleased to welcome Emerald to our esteemed network of content providers,” says Delores Meglio, Vice President, Publisher Relations for Knovel. “Our partnership aligns well with Emerald’s commitment to make technical information accessible for critical decision-making.”
Jim De Wolf, Vice President of Operations for Emerald Inc., comments: “We are delighted to provide content through such a distinguished partner as Knovel. This association fits perfectly with our aim to disseminate high-quality, relevant content as widely as possible to advance both research and practice.”
Emerald joins a number of international publishers who trust Knovel as the established partner of choice for the provision of engineering and scientific content.
Over 600 organizations worldwide will gain access to Emerald’s Transport collection of eBooks as part of their subscription to Knovel.
