Follow on Google News | Climate is good for CAD FrontToday, it's no secret that the Michigan economy is the worst in the entire nation. That doesn't mean there's a lack of business opportunity for some people. Take CAD Front for example, founded in the summer of 2009 and successful by winter time.
By: CAD Front "Everyone saw the market go from stale, to a complete downward spiral in late fall of 2008. I could count on one hand how many sales orders were submitted between then and the time where my layoff was announced. Although I was terribly disappointed, I was not surprised" Knowing that the Michigan job market was not going to be easy to enter, Ken Rose decided to take his career into his own hands. Once he started looking at the situation, something was realized: Talent existed, Experience was priceless, and at least 40 other people from his company were in the same position. On average, technical consultants who are laid off from larger firms begin to work for themselves. They call up a few local businesses that they have a relationship with and obtain projects until a full-time position is obtained. But what if they never obtain the full-time job, and they exhausted the one or two companies of future work. Ken was familiar with the industry from many levels and wanted to pursue a better avenue. That's how CAD Front got started. CAD Front is a company that leverages a network of technical consultants to employ on an as-needed basis. Since resources are nationwide CAD Front can market to the entire country and offer their professional services. Since resources are nationwide CAD Front offers their professional services throughout the entire country. However, the majority of connected consultants come from: Detroit, Grand Rapids, Chicago, Dayton, Cleveland, Tampa, Dallas, Omaha, and Minneapolis. "What I've allowed is for all of my consultants to be their own employer. When I call them up and ask if they're able to take a job, they let me know. The pay is great for them and I personally know that the job will be fulfilled with the highest of standards. All 40 people from Avatech Solutions have the opportunity to become a CAD Front consultant. Actually, there is an additional 50-60 consultants from other firms that have also been laid off that I am also in contact with." Work assignments from CAD Front are generated through several marketing efforts. Email campaigns, community blogs, and additional memberships are easy low-cost tasks that result in high return. But it's the rates charged that are 60-75% less than the competition that most companies are interested in. "What I'm capitalizing on is the fact that manufacturing and design companies really do need certain assistance, they just can't pay the high dollars for that type of work anymore. Project inquiries have not dropped in the past 5-years, but the ability to pay exorbitant amounts of money to address a problem has greatly decreased. I'm happy with the business direction so far but more importantly, my projects are turning into repeat customers." Although CAD Front may be a growing company with a positive future, Ken will have to wait a while longer for his home town to rebound. In the meantime, CAD Front continues to aggressively pursue and fulfill business needs throughout the country. # # # http://cadfront.com CAD Front: A CAD and Data Management Professional Resource that specializes in helping companies leverage their CAD software investments.
