According to recent figures from the financial Ombudsman Service PPI complaints are pouring in at a rate of 750 a week.
PPI has often been sold to the most vulnerable of people who were pressured into taking out the PPI which in itself sometimes amounted to over £20,000 and would often not have been suitable anyway. It has been pure explotation and in the words of the Citizens Advice Bureau 'protection racket' Many customers were not even eligible to claim.
The Finanical Services Authority have already fined 18 lenders but this is all too late and they should have stepped in earlier to stop this abuse.
