New Legal Regulatory And Practice Support Service For Lawyers Launched

Dec. 16, 2009 - PRLog -- Launched on Friday 11 December, the Lawyers Defence Group is the brain-child of Richard Nelson Solicitors and Murdochs Solicitors and provides all lawyers – whether they be barristers, solicitors, legal executives or support staff – with access to a comprehensive web site and to expert advice from those two firms, backed up by a panel of other solicitors, barristers and consultants specialising in those issues likely to be encountered by those in legal practice.

Commenting on the Group, Duncan Finlyson, a solicitor at Richard Nelson Solicitors, and the person responsible for management of Lawyers Defence Group said:

It is all too easy for lawyers to fall foul of their regulatory bodies or to find that they have practice-related problems with which they are unable to deal. In addition to being able to provide access to those with the appropriate expertise, the Lawyers Defence Group  web site (www.lawyersdefencegroup.org.uk) provides a wide range of  information and advice on topics as diverse as procedures in the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal and dealing with discrimination.  In addition, by registering on the web site – a process which is entirely free of charge – users can get additional benefits including newsletters, regulatory bulletins, precedent documents dealing with policies and management issues for use in the lawyer’s practices and much more.

“Our aim is that the Lawyers Defence Group will become a first port of call for all lawyers with practice related, regulatory or employment problems,” said Duncan Finlyson. “Much of the information that lawyers need to run their practices on a day-to-day basis is spread across numerous web sites or is simply not made available at all.  We intend that the Lawyers Defence Group web site will become not only a route map to that information, helping all in the law to find the information they need when they need it, but will also provide them with the right advice at the right time.”

One factor which sets the Lawyers Defence Group apart from other information sources is the fact that it is aimed at all types of lawyers.
