Over 19 million people tuned into the X Factor final over the weekend to see Joe McElderry storm to victory. But it was third place contestant Stacey Solomon who stole the show with her magnificent fashion choices.
The Dagenham songstress has become somewhat of a style icon during her time on the ITV music competition. During Saturday’s show she wowed the audience in a pink strapless floor-length number, and her fans are now scouring the Internet looking for ways to create their own Solomon style.
As a result, there has been an increased interest in the Delphiney evening dress from New York designer Diane von Furstenberg, as sold by London fashion retailer Matches. But the final was not the first time Stacey had sought fashion inspiration from DVF. During one of the previous live shows she made waves in a purple embellished velvet dress from the designer’s Fall 2009 collection.
Matches is one of London’s largest high-end clothing retailers. With thirteen stores in the capital, and an extensive online directory, they deal in over 60 designer brands, including Alexander McQueen, Burberry, Chanel and Stella McCartney. Matches has a close working relationship with Diane von Furstenberg, with their website, Matchesfashion.com, boasting its own specialist DVF Shop.
