Users of the website Hospital.com have vocalized an interest in increased coverage of medical schools around the nation.
Medical school enrollment has continued to grow steadily, showing promise in the future of the medical field. Medical schools spend the majority of their funds on education and research, and do not have much opportunity to advertise.
"I'm a pre-med student looking for options for medical school" said Ryan Dickinson, one of the users of Hospital.com that called in with suggestions. "It's important to understand the different benefits of each medical school -- its region, its surrounding city, its academic departments, everything"
Answering the call of its users, Hospital.com has begun to profile different medical schools around the country in an effort to create awareness and offer publicity to the schools. Already profiled are the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, the nation's oldest medical school and one of the highest rated schools in the country, as well as many others.
Each profile focuses on what makes the medical school stand out, in hopes of attracting the right students for each medical school.
"Hospital.com put all of the information I needed in one website. If I needed more information, I would just follow the link from each article."
Hospital.com is an not-for-profit online news website focusing on highlighting information and issues relevant to the hospital community.
