The wonderful world of sports has been taken to an entirely new level at the Michael-Ann Russell Jewish Community Center located on the Sanford L. Ziff Campus, 18900 NE 25th Avenue, North Miami Beach, with the introduction of the Tumblebees Gymnastics Program.
Although gymnastics has been a mainstay at the MAR-JCC, Tumblebees Olympic-style gymnastics will increase the caliber of quality gymnastics programming by implementing the company’s over 25 years of industry experience. Andi Rohan, Tumblebees Educational Director remarked “We are very excited to be working at the Michael-Ann Russell JCC, and look forward to becoming a permanent fixture in their outstanding line-up of recreational sports classes and activities.”
Tumblebees many accolades include competitions throughout Florida where they garnered numerous first place titles and were selected to teach at Miami’s Lighthouse for the Blind. “Additionally, Maria Hernandez, seasoned instructor and former Special Olympics Judge, will be teaching with us” Andi added.
“We have a philosophy of teaching through positive reinforcement while we also support and encourage good eating habits, and combine that with stretch and strength training. This is the foundation of a healthy lifestyle- something we will bring to the JCC”, Andi continued. “Additionally, as a Jewish person, and a gymnastics instructor, I find this opportunity to be quite rewarding and I am excited to serve the members of the
MAR-JCC.”
Tumblebees classes begin at age 2 through adult and specialize in preschool gymnastics. Motors kills, eye-hand coordination, and balance activities are taught along with floor, balance beam, vaulting, bars, trampoline, small barrels, incline, hoops and parachute activities, and all instructors are safety certified by U.S.A.G. Birthday parties are also available. For more information, contact Nancy Carroll, Associate Health Sports and Wellness Director at 305-932-4200.
