Top Softball Coach Reveals to Coaches Secret to Successful Softball Season

Dec. 15, 2009 - PRLog -- A top softball coach revealed today how softball teams can ensure a successful season.
“It’s actually simple. It all boils down to the right scheduling,” said Marc Dagenais, a renowned softball peak performance coach. According to him, a team’s softball schedule should not only cover the season itself but also what happens before and after it.
“Every softball coach should know what he and his team should do in the pre-season, during the season, and during the post-season.”
For the pre-season, Dagenais said that coaches should be devoted to making significant to the team and each individual player’s game.
Meanwhile, he also said that coaches should only make minor tweaks and adjustments during the entire season. “Making major changes in-season will be devastating to the team’s performance,” warned Dagenais.
Finally, part of the post-season should be spent for recovery and pursuing non-softball-related activities. “Coaches should give their players 6-8 weeks for rest and recovery once the season has ended,” said Dagenais. He explained that doing this prevents chances of burn outs among players, as well as overuse injuries.
Dagenais is a softball coach with more than 20 years of coaching teams that include the Canadian Women’s Softball National Team.
