Vancouver
Laurus Travel, a China travel specialist based in Vancouver, is offering a 9-day winter and spring special visiting Shanghai, Suzhou and Beijing. The all-inclusive deal with first class hotels and airfare from Vancouver on Air China is priced at $1395 for January and February. Taxes and jet fuel surcharges are extra. The March departure costing $200 more is ideal for families with school-age children looking for international travel during spring break.
In Shanghai, China’s largest city and host of World Expo 2010, guests will visit Shanghai Museum, the Bund on Huangpu River and the old town center. There will be time for tour members to explore the city by themselves.
During the day trip to Suzhou, participants will tour a traditional Chinese garden (UNESCO Heritage site), a silk factory and ride a small boat on the Grand Canal.
Beijing portion of the trip takes in the Great Wall, Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and some other interesting places. A farewell dinner featuring Peking roast duck, a Beijing delicacy, is included in the tour price.
Laurus Travel has planned three departures for this special, one each for January, February and March. If you are interested, you should contact the company as soon as possible because the China tour operator limits the group size to 20. Laurus Travel’s website is www.laurustravel.com;
