Follow on Google News | City of Burbank honors Cusumano Real Estate Group on 50th AnniversaryThe City of Burbank recently honored Cusumano Real Estate Group’s 50th anniversary and major contributions to the city.
By: Lisa Singelyn The event attracted dozens of Cusumano family members, as well as a host of community leaders, including Anja Reinke, Vice Mayor; Council Members Dave Golonski and Jess Talamantes; City Manager Michael Flad, Public Works Director Bonnie Teaford; Burbank Chamber of Commerce President /CEO Gary Olson, Deputy City Planner Michael Forbes; Burbank Planning Board Members Vahe Hovanessian and Doug Drake and representatives from Burbank Water and Power, Burbank Fire, Bob Hope Airport, and many more. The celebration was held at Third and Olive Restaurant and included a congratulatory plaque presented by Mayor Gary Bric and a city-produced video detailing the accomplishments and contributions of the Cusumano family, whose roots run deep in Burbank. “The Cusumanos have been a fixture in Burbank for five decades now, and show no signs of slowing down,” said Bric. “They have developed some of the most successful real estate projects in Southern California while always maintaining a strong commitment to the community.” Accepting the commendation on behalf of the company was Vice-President Michael Cusumano. “It’ The Cusumano family is one of the largest charitable benefactors in the San Fernando Valley, with a special passion for youth. Their recently created Cusumano Family Foundation has already awarded thousands of dollars to local charities such as the Boys and Girls Club, the Family Service Agency of Burbank, John Burroughs High School, and more. Cusumano Real Estate Group was started in 1959 by brothers Roger and Chuck Cusumano with, they say, no plan—just hard work, patience and a desire to treat people well. The tradition continues with Chuck’s sons Michael and Charlie. “Our business principles have always centered around the work ethic my grandparents brought to my parents and uncle,” said Michael. “To be successful, our projects have to be a win-win for us, for the people that we partner with and for the community that we work in and live in.” Michael and Charlie now manage the multi-generational team, which includes property management, development, construction and brokerage divisions. “The Cusumano name is synonymous with quality construction, quality projects,” said Gary Olson. “Everybody knows that when they’re involved, the end result is going to be fabulous. www.cusumanogroup.com End
