FORT LAUDERDALE FL — Starting November 18th through December 22nd 2009, you can make a difference for thousands of Broward county’s homeless by donating food as part of the "10,000 Pound Challenge." A large number of Broward County’s residents and business’ are preparing for the county's largest food. This will be the second year of this county wide program which has hopes of collecting a minimum of 10,000 pounds of food for the Cooperative Feeding Program.
The program created and spearheaded by the Sunrise Chamber of Commerce first started as a Chamber project but has evolved into a county-wide project for many Broward county residents and business’.
The Sunrise Chamber is proud to participate in such a great cause, especially in these uncertain economic times where more and more of Broward county’s residents go without food.
We at the Sunrise Chamber find it very rewarding to give back to the community and working on worthwhile projects like this really goes a long way to accomplishing that goal, said Barbara Castillo, Ambassador and Board Member, Sunrise Chamber.
