Charity Lattitude Global Volunteering is offering football fans aged 17 to 25 the opportunity to volunteer in South Africa during the 2010 World Cup, where they may even be able to attend a competition game.
Lattitude Global Volunteering is a not for profit organisation that offers17-25 year olds the opportunity to volunteer abroad. The charity is praising young football fans that are choosing to combine their love of football, with an opportunity to volunteer in South African communities.
Volunteering placements with Lattitude are available in 17 countries globally and there are still 15 places left* for South Africa next year. Those placements will enable young volunteers to live and work in a South African community while making a difference, as well as providing the opportunity to go and watch a World Cup game.
“With South Africa being one of the top holiday destinations for 2010, it is good to see young people choosing to visit the country, not just for the football, but to give something back through volunteering”
Placements available to Lattitude volunteers in South Africa include a variety of community, education, environment and outdoor education projects. Through these placements, volunteers often develop skills that help them to further their education and assist their careers. The experience and personal development achieved through volunteering with Lattitude often become deciding factors when young people embark on a career path.
With people desperate to become part of the World Cup atmosphere in South Africa next year, any young person who believes they can make a positive difference to a community in South Africa should visit Lattitude’s website now and apply for a place.
“While the World Cup will provide an amazing atmosphere to be part of, I expect the Lattitude Global Volunteers to get just as much excitement and satisfaction out of becoming part of the communities they live and work within” adds Paul. “Lattitude placements are as much about giving to the community as developing the volunteers themselves, who benefit hugely from their experiences”
