New wireless solutions bolster the tech magic of MIMO into SA

SMC Networks, a global provider of LAN hardware and broadband connectivity devices, has announced the launch of its new Barricade® N 802.11n Wireless Broadband Router (SMCWBR14S-N3) – a cable/xDSL router that delivers 300Mpbs wireless connection speeds for home and small business networks.

At the same time SMC is launching the EZ Connect™ N 802.11n Wireless USB2.0 Adapter (SMCWUSB-N2) – a new 300Mbps wireless adapter that employs advanced MIMO technology to achieve optimum speed and range.

Together the two products represent an ideal solution for heavy bandwidth users that want to stream video and audio, play online games, transfer large files, make Voice over IP (VoIP) calls and surf the internet across their wireless networks.

The Barricade® N 802.11n Wireless 4-port Broadband Router (SMCWBR14S-N3) is an all-in-one networking solution for cable customers – combining high speed wireless data transfer with a 4-port 10/100Mbps LAN switch, NAT firewall with SPI, WPA and WPA2 wireless encryption and a user friendly web-based management interface in a stylish new white colour design.

To further enhance the user experience, WiFi Multimedia (WMM) is also included to prioritise data traffic and maximise Quality of Service for applications like VoIP.
