The MindFit Whiz Kids online cognitive (brain) training program has just been launched in to the Australian and New Zealand markets.
The program was designed by leading Israeli cognitive assessment & training developer CogniFit and is the same program mentioned favourably by leading world neuroscientist Baroness Susan Greenfield at the recent Mind & It's Potential conference held in Sydney
Sharing the same technology platform that has been clinically proven to significantly improve cognition, the MindFit Whiz Kids program is for primary school students and helps students grasp complex subject matter more easily. It does this by creating a sound and solid cognitive base that positively affects a child's core ability to learn. Containing separate assessment and training modules Mindfit Whiz Kids creates a training schedule unique to each user and addresses their weaknesses while enhancing their strengths. The program not only improves the cognitive skills and abilities used to help them learn at school, it also improves their sports and road safety skills as well.
A case study involving 168 pupils was conducted in Israel compared the using the program to additional teacher-conducted literacy training. The case study showed that children in grades 1-3 can improve their attention abilities crucial to learning and understanding by training with MindFit Whiz Kids, but not by the addition of teacher-conducted literacy activities.When it came to reading comprehension both groups improved in the WRAT reading test, the children could improve their reading skills just as much by training on the MindFit Whiz Kids program.
Duncan Ferguson from the Australian master distributor Navon said "MindFit Whiz Kids is not designed to replace teachers, we see it as a great complement to the education process and as a building block to facilitate more effective and efficient learning".
The study showed that 77.4% of the children enjoyed using the program and that 82.3% of the children thought it helped them with their class work. Mr. Ferguson from Navon said "it is important that neither parents nor children see this program as a game purely for entertainment purposes because when it comes to games there will always be a more "entertaining"
