New Book Shows Management Tools For The New Economy

Dec. 13, 2009 - PRLog -- Los Angeles, CA – Effective January 1, 2010, Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble’s bn.com will be carrying “A World Without A Safety Net: Walking the Tightrope to Business Performance”, the new book by business performance expert Frederick W. Croft.     Mr. Croft, who advised several major Asian and European multinational companies in improving product quality and financial performance, discusses techniques that proved effective in the post-2008 business environment.    “We learned some important things in the downturn,” notes Croft, who previously co-authored the UCLA Anderson Forecast’s “Solutions for Our State”.    “Executives can’t simply look at financial statements once a month and think they know what’s driving their company.   They need to understand where they’re making and losing money, and which parts of the company are working effectively.   That takes a different data set – and it takes skills to translate information into action.”    

The book lays out a management approach based on three parts: information, execution, and decision-making.    When those three things are managed, the business will operate effectively.    Mr. Croft describes several new tools for managing these areas, and gives war stories from client in the U.S. and overseas showing how the tools worked in the real world.

Mr. Croft will be a featured speaker at the Institute of Industrial Engineers/American Society for Quality national conference on improving health care systems in Atlanta on February 25 – 28, 2010, where he will be speaking about the issues and tools addressed in the book.
