The shops are busy, the bells are starting to ring and Christmas parties are a plenty, but the weather and temperature is predictably awful. There are many reasons to love Xmas and the New Year, but the skies are grey and the days are short.
One Sheffield based Flowers retailer, Katiepeckett.com, see's a good rise in sales when it comes to bright, deep colours. Managing director Andy Peckett says: "There is actually no worse time of year when it comes to the climate, but obviously we don't really notice it as much when Christmas is around the corner".
He went on to add: "The days are pretty short anbd it's a bit depressing with the grey skies. We have a good increase in trade this time of year for the luscious red roses, brightly coloured berries. Most customers are taking their flower deliveries with a bottle of Champagne, and who can blame them?!".
