What happening?
For Sporting News Despite having a .500 record, the Ravens are still in playoff contention with several other AFC teams either slightly above or around .500. The problem with the Ravens is that they tend to play to the caliber of their competition, which means this is no slam dunk victory over Detroit. Of the teams contending for the final spot, the Ravens have the easiest schedule with Detroit and Chicago at home, followed by Pittsburgh and Oakland on the road.
Second-year quarterback Joe Flacco has to improve if the Ravens are going into the post season. Flacco has struggled with an ankle injury since the sixth week of the season against Minnesota, and he also appears to have shoulder and hip injuries. But it's not just injuries. Flacco's decision making was poor last week against the Packers as he was intercepted three times, twice forcing the ball into double coverage. When all other things fail with an offense, a quarterback has to carry his team. Flacco needs to step up.
