What happening?

Quarterback Matt Ryan has progressed from his turf toe injury and has not been ruled out against the Saints. Chris Redman struggled against the Eagles and their relentless pressure. Ryan was injured on the first series against Tampa Bay and did not play against Philadelphia. With the Falcons' faint playoff hopes on the line, look for Ryan and the Falcons to go to extremes to get him back on the field. ...

Michael Turner was rounding back into top from before his high ankle sprain against Carolina. He tried to come back against Tampa Bay, but was knocked out of the game. The Falcons are 1-4 in games where they attempt more than 40 passes and want to get back to running the ball. If Turner can't go, the Falcons want to get more out of Jerious Norwood and Jason Snelling. ...

It's been smooth sailing for Falcons second-year coach Mike Smith, who won the coach of year after guiding the Falcons to a 11-5 record last season. But after blowing a 4-1 start, the team is at its first crossroads under his tenure. Smith is trying to keep things together with an injury-plagued roster. Many are waiting to see if the Falcons will come out and fight while coming off their worst defeat (34-7) under Smith or they will take getting sand kicked in their faces by the NFC South champs.

The undefeated Saints are going to get the Falcons' best shot possible with all of the injuries. Look for all of the breathing and abled body players to attempt to play. Despite pleas from Smith that the sky is not falling, the season is on the line in this one. Despite a valiant effort from the Falcons, the Saints and that powerful offense will march on to 13-0.
