PRLog - Dec. 11, 2009 - What is an autoresponder?
Any time that you have asked for information online about anything, or signed up for a newsletter or anything else that generated an almost instantaneous reply to your email inbox, then an autoresponder program was used to deliver that reply.
Basically, an autoresponder is an email program that sends out a preset message in response to every email its address receives.
There are some autoresponders, like those for a service that wants you to sign up for something, which are essentially "one-shot" deals.
Basically they send out a single response for every single message they receive.
Most Internet based companies use autoresponder programs for numerous purposes, such as automating those tasks which would otherwise take up too much time, to building mailing lists.
There are other autoresponder programs which send out a series of messages to the email addresses they receive on a pre-set, pre-timed basis.
For example, such an autoresponder might be used to send one instantaneous response, and then send out a follow up message several days after, then another several days after that, and so on.
It could be programmed to send out a message everyday, once per week, several times in a month, or using a time frame that suits the programmer.
Autoresponder programs are one of the most powerful Internet marketing tools you can use. Once programmed, they are easy to use, and the entire marketing process becomes automated and instant.
When you use an autoresponder program, your Internet business will run itself automatically.
If you can launch an effective autoresponder campaign it could mean the difference between a business which struggles and one which is very successful.
