Tool Factory announced today that it is now offering The Future is Wild educational software. Based on the Emmy-nominated Discovery Kids cartoon series and Discovery Channel documentary, the science software provides a platform for students to improve their science, geography and ICT skills as they explore an interpretation of our world 5 million, 100 million and 200 million years in the future.
The Future is Wild turns users into time-traveling students who learn about habitats, interdependence and adaptation through immersive simulation. The software boasts three activity levels, including focused assignments, as well as video clips and rotating 3D creature models to foster student engagement. The program also includes a built-in tracking and reporting feature to monitor student achievement.
“It was an obvious choice to bring The Future is Wild to the US market," said Gordon Woodrow, Tool Factory’s Director of Operations. “This is science education for the 21st Century; it’s engaging, interactive, and focused on learning through immersive simulation. Students love to work through the activities because of the engaging 3D graphics of the unusual ‘creatures’
Developed by the Sherston Publishing Group, The Future is Wild was authored by Liz Southwell, a former educator who has worked on several best-selling Science programs, including the BBC Science Simulations series.
