Recently named one of Atlanta's top 100 startups by Areastartups.com, fanBunker.com is proud to re-launch with a new design and targeted functionality intended to cement fanbunker as the internet's premier site for sports fans of the five major US sports categories. Co-founder Seth Roseman stated that 'After many months and collaboration with some of the best and brightest sports bloggers, we believe we have created the ideal sports content aggregation site that not only presents content to consumers that might not have otherwise found it, but also augments the sites and identities that bloggers strive to create.'
Among other upgrades, fanBunker has installed a rating algorithm called FBScore that rates and presents content according to multiple metrics to determine relevance. The FBScore along with opportunities for new authors to submit blogs creates an automated system that increases visibility for the best blogs and decreases or eliminates visibility for the worst blogs. As Roseman explained, 'It is the wild west right now with sports blogs, a great blog could be viewed by thousands today and gone tomorrow. To maintain relevance for our users it was essential that we adopt measures to take this into account so as not to present stale sports content.'
With this most recent launch, http://www.fanBunker.com continues to grow as a conduit or gateway as opposed to the portal-like strategy practiced by competitive web sites. Roseman concluded his statement with, 'while other sports aggregation sites attempt to brand themselves using the standalone content pieces across the Internet, we want to push our users off of our site and onto the sites of the best writers. We plan to be as important to our users as to the bloggers that we work with.'
