Winter Property Maintenance Rush Causes Monthly Sales to Double at One Call

Property maintenance expert One Call Home Assist eyes further expansion across the UK after seeing its monthly turnover double during the run up to Christmas.

Dec. 10, 2009 - PRLog -- Property expert One Call Home Assist has heralded the latest success of its innovative fixed-price maintenance contracts – after seeing sales double over the past few months.

The firm, which provides maintenance contracts designed to help homeowners and landlords save thousands of pounds in repair bills, says that demand for its services in recent months has been overwhelming - with scores of landlords and property managers signing up to the deals across Edinburgh, the Lothians and East Scotland.

The firm adds that demand for the fixed price contracts, which were set up as a low-cost alternative to those offered by British Gas and Homeserve, has been so high that monthly turnover and sales have been doubling for the past two months.

One Call Home Assist’s directors are now predicting that, because of the surge of interest in the contracts, the company’s turnover will top £2million over the next 12 months.

Paul Greaves, managing director of One Call Home Assist, said: “With this service, we’re directly going into competition with big companies such as British Gas and Homeserve. It’s a bold move but we can compete with them because we are better run with lower overheads.

“We directly employ our own tradesmen and provide complete care for landlords which covers all aspects of maintaining rented properties, including all annual certifications. Because we provide a more rounded and thorough service than other big companies, which usually just provide boiler maintenance, we’re managing to take business away from them and create a strong position for ourselves in the Scottish property maintenance sector.

“We’ve had a great response from landlords in the East of Scotland and we’re at the point now where our turnover and take-up figures are doubling every month. We’re also taking regular enquiries from letting agents and landlords from London to Aberdeen and this is strengthening our plans to roll our company out nationally, which we will be actively pursuing at the start of the New Year.

“Considering we have only been in business for less than a year, this is a phenomenal achievement and a real testament not only to the popularity of our maintenance contracts but also to the hard work and dedication of our staff.

“When we started, we were supplying our services to landlords and property owners in and around the Edinburgh region, but we have now grown to the point where we’re taking enquiries from across the whole of Scotland. Our contracts and services are also attracting interest in England, which bodes extremely well for the future growth of One Call Home Assist.”

One Call Home Assist was launched in Edinburgh in March and its fixed-price contracts cover all emergency repair work to electrical, plumbing and heating systems, as well as general maintenance issues.  The contracts also cover all PAT and gas safety testing.

The service offers a range of fixed prices contracts depending on size of the property and type of maintenance cover required – with an all-in contract for a one-bed flat costing £32.99 a month (inc VAT).  All the work is carried out by One Call Home Assist’s expert in-house contractor teams who operate on a round the clock basis from their base in Edinburgh.
