Dec. 10, 2009 - PRLog -- Excitech, the UK’s leading CAD solution provider has announced the launch of a new software enhancement for the Autodesk Revit Platform. The Excitech Revit Toolkit is a new set of additional utilities developed and published by Excitech to further increase the benefits users get from Revit technology.

The first part of the Revit Toolkit is the Coordinate Scheduling tool which is FREE and available worldwide.

The FREE Excitech Revit Coordinate Scheduling tool is a powerful enhancement for Revit Architecture, Revit Structure and Revit MEP that will enable users to automatically acquire precise X, Y and Z coordinates from specific Revit objects. This allows users to more rapidly produce schedules of, for example, piling and services; as well as to publish coordinates for complex geometry across 3D space.

The Revit Coordination Scheduling tool is currently only available for the Revit 2010 platform and 32-bit operating systems, and is compatible with Microsoft Windows XP and Vista. A 64-bit version will follow shortly.

Initial reaction from the customer beta test programme has proved extremely positive. Victor Polyik of Arup enthused that “this makes my year; it’s the best thing ever. We're using Revit MEP on a major infrastructure project and coordinate reporting would be a massive benefit”.

John Hainsworth, also of Arup, provided extremely positive feedback explaining that “I'm doing cartwheels around the office as this works a treat; just a shame it’s a tad late for a major project we have just issued with over 21,000 coordinates!!”

Commenting on the launch of the Revit Toolkit, Adrian Atkinson, Managing Director of Excitech explained that “We have been working with a number of our top Revit clients to identify some of the more time consuming tasks within the design environment and to provide solutions that complement the existing Revit functionality to address these tasks. The initial coordinate scheduling utility is the first to be released and the feedback from the beta programme has been excellent and I am confident that almost every Revit user will see significant advantages in using these tools.”

The Excitech Revit Toolkit including the Coordinate Scheduling tool is now available to download for free from the Excitech website and further details can be found via the Excitech web site at www.excitech.com/toolkit.
