Manama – Kingdom of Bahrain, : Khalijia Invest as one of the recently established investment companies in the region, specializing in Corporate Finance and Asset Management, operating in compliance with Shari’ah guidelines announces the commencement of its operations, under its five licenses awarded by the Saudi Capital Market Authority.
Also, in launching its corporate logo, “ Big opportunities in the small details “, Khalijia Invest differentiates itself with the company’s ambitious plans as an investment company whose objective is to create unique investment opportunities in local and regional vibrant sectors of the economy.
The CEO of Khalijia Invest, Mr. Muneer Al Shehri, stated that in addition to its focus on Investment activities are in compliance with Shari’ah, those activities are a new addition to the concept of Investment based on reality, supported by thurough detailed analysis and research of market and investors needs through meeting the Gulf investors expectation.
Mr. Muneer Al Shehri elaborated further that restoring investor confidence is a strategic objective for our business after impact which the global economic and financial crisis has
had on investors. The resultant turmoil has created new opportunities for the emergence of new investment banking firms which are untainted by root causes of the financial crisis
and this creates new opportunities for the development of local firms operating to international standards such as Khalijia Invest.
Mr. Muneer Al Shehri also added that family companies represent a promising target client base for Khalijia Invest to offer financial advisory services and assist these family groups in developing their strategic roadmap and prepare them for IPO.
With regard to its adherence to Shari’ah guidelines Mr. Muneer Al Shehri explained that the mandate of Khalijia Invest’s Shari’ah Supervisor Board is to oversee all the business activities of Khalijia Invest. The Shari’ah Supervisory Board is composed of the following Scholars:
- Shaikh Dr. Mohamed El Gari (Chairman)
- Shaikh Dr. Nizam Yaqoubi
- Shaikh Lahem AlNasir
Mr. Dhafer Salih Alqahtani, Deputy CEO, said that Khalijia Invest’s concentration on Shari’ah compliant Corporate Finance and Investment Funds is in line with the strategy for the firm as outlined by the Board of Directors under the leadership of the Chairman H.H. Prince Sultan Bin Mohamed Bin Saud AlKabeer.
Mr. Dhafer Salih Alqahtani, elaborated further, that Khalijia Invest will enter into strategic alliances to capitalize on existing investment opportunities in the main economic sectors within Saudi Arabia, as natural outcome of impetuous development plans for the Kingdom; sectors of particular for the firm will be Infrastructure , Petrochemical, Power, Construction, Logistics and Healthcare.
He also added that Khalijia Invest will launch four (4) Shari’ah Complaint Investment Funds during the first half of 2010; further details of these funds and their investment focus will be released closer to the time of launch.
