The bar has been raised extremely and significantly high, in terms of the standards for HazzieMuzik's most recent EP release. The current release features an escape from the profound childhood boredom of his immediate surroundings, coupled with the ability to expand and explore the welcoming musical ideas of his mentors.
Dale Haslam was born in Kingston, Jamaica and then raised on the island in a little district in St. Ann called Train Line. At fifteen years old, he picked up the bass guitar and started practicing at church. In 1998, he began playing with the group named Skool Band, which included renowned Jazz enthusiast and drummer Desmond Jones. In 2003, Hazziemuzik began playing and touring the overseas circuit with Reggae Great -Jimmy Cliff. The exceptional performances exemplified and warranted a particular multi-cultural musical experience, that afforded him the ability of touring all over the world with singers such as Carlene Davis, Judy Mowatt (of the I-Threes), Barrington Levy, Mutabaruku and the Maurice Gordon's band.
The musical works surrounding the current tracks of the EP exhibits an original, unique, expressive sound that highlights the sounds of the holiday and features a cover version of Bing Cosby's Christmas carol rendition 'Silver Bells,' which is a major plus for showcasing his composing and arranging skills.
Hazziemuzik pays tribute for the contributed works of some of his key jazz influences and music connoisseurs such as: Benjy Myaz, Leon Duncan, Family Man Barrett, Glen Browne, Neville Morris, Junior Jazz, John Patitucci, Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller, Richard Bona, Victor Wooten, and Nathan East.
Some of HazzieMuzik's works has brought him varied set-lists of noted performances, such as: Air Jamaica Jazz & Blues Festival and Jazz in the Garden concerts in Kingston. He currently plays in Jamaica Big Band, where he has become a fixture on the Jamaican music scene. These achievements have granted him the ability to perform his material amongst a set of jazz musicians whose works are based on the usual mélange of reggae, blues and jazz.
He has been fortunate and honored to perform with notable jazz legends, such as Ernest Ranglin, Monty Alexander, Maurice Gordon , Kathy Brown, Madrie Riley, Karen Smith, The Butler Brothers, Robin Banks, Arturo Tappin, Peter Ashbourne, John Williams, Dean Fraser and the late great Sonny Bradshaw. Over the past 10 years, in addition to performing with various groups, Hazziemuzik has performed within local events and venues, such as The Ocho Rios Jazz Festival, The Air Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival, Pegasus Jazz in the Garden, Jazz on the Green, Red Bones Blues Café, and numerous hotels on the North coast of Jamaica.
HazzieMuzik's past works of achievement afforded him, his first Single,' How Great Is Thy Faithfulness.' This earlier Single featured a fusion of R&B, Reggae and Jazz and was influenced by the works of Marcus Miller, The Braxton Brothers, Ernest Ranglin and Maurice Gordon.
The current EP Release of 'Searching Hard to Find' is a unique, expressive sound buzzing product of substance, that is guaranteed to exhume a high level of warmth amongst the four corners of the hemisphere.
