No longer resigned to a textbook, the topic of global warming takes on all-new impact to kids ages 4 to 12 taking part in a new interactive theater experience called “Global Warming: What’s a Kid to Do?” Kidworks Touring Theatre Co. will present the next program Wednesday, December 16, from 7 to 8 p.m., at the Waukegan Public Library.
Featured on WBBM Newsradio, this lively program encourages kids to get involved not only in the performance itself, but in making changes on our changing planet. Audience volunteers will dress up in costume and explore the facts and myths of climate change from the perspective of endangered plants and animals. See what it’s like to ride a melting glacier with a polar bear; journey to the Amazon rainforest on a monkey; and save a coral reef in Australia.
Free and open to the public, with no registration required. Children 5 and under should be accompanied by an adult. For more information, call or visit the library at (847) 623-2041 or www.waukeganpl.org.
