It’s been nearly a decade now since coffee shops started mushrooming in our cities. One wonders how was life before the advent of such joints which now seem impossible to exist without. We sure have come a long way from the tea stalls or coffee kiosks of the early 1990’s and now things seem to be moving towards a new phase in bistros. Coffee Quotient in Saket District Centre, behind City Select Walk is a perfect example of how the coffee shops are slowly but surely easing into a new chapter.
Coffee Quotient is a quaint restaurant nestled in the building behind City Select Mall and although the size of the outlet would mislead you into believing that the joint only serves coffee, one glance at the impressive menu and you know these guys know their business. The place evokes a sense of coziness from the moment you set foot into it, the smiling staff and the comfortable seating only adds to the mood. The coffees are reasonably priced between Rs 50 and 90 while the teas come at Rs 55 onwards. The Oreo Grande is the pick of the cold coffees and all the shakes come in a sugar-free option as well.
The beverages include smoothies, juices and virgin mojitos. The healthy portions of coffee should last you through your snack ranging from side orders to complete meals. The exhaustive food menu has a whole array of starters (Rs 100 onwards), salads, soups that change everyday, burgers, sandwiches, wraps and rolls to choose from. In addition to offering a far reaching choice of dishes to choose from the restaurant does its fair bit of experimenting. The Punjabi and Turkish options in pizzas and the ham-cheese sandwich are the hot favourites in food.
For a place which is essentially a coffee joint the restaurant has some lip smacking pasta selections. Is there some thing that is missing from the Coffee Quotient? Of course this isn’t heaven and hence there are a few things that could be improved upon. The desserts are few and the menu shows only three options! While you can decadently nibble on the ubiquitous brownie with a nice post meal coffee what about people who have a strong sweet tooth? Tough call you say… no really. The Death By Chocolate is a steal at Rs 115. Good enough for two to share this is pure sin and some what makes up for the low numbers in the dessert section.
Thanks to the great variety of foods at a very inviting price has translated Coffee Quotient’s patrons into a very loyal and dedicated bunch that has spread the word far and wide. For a relatively unheard of place, The Coffee Quotient even has a Facebook group’s page! If you are looking an extraordinary coffee experience that lets you be, a place that won’t intrude too much even with its music and ambience then look no further--this is the place you want to go to.
