SLUGZZ Songs Showing Up in iTunes iMixes

There is no doubt that iTunes is the undisputed king of online song downloads. Ten years ago who would have imagined that the music retail world would take on such a new direction. When the CEO of SLUGZZ’s label first began to test his music among the 20 year olds of the world...he was told not to press up a bunch of full CD’s. “Why” he asked...the response was “because we never go to the store and buy a full CD anymore...that’s why.” So what is an iMix? It is a named published play list of a listener’s songs as stored in their personal iTunes file. What happens is when a play list is published into an iMix...that list appears on the home page of each artist in the mix. It’s kind of a spot light on a select group of artist. “We have seen songs like “Shake That A**” in mixes titled Big Booty Club.” We have also seen him cross over to POP mixes sharing the stage with artist like Korn, and Linkin Park. “I’m not surprised to see this from and artist who is so versatile like Bentley”...says Tony Shannon CEO of UpSouth Entertainment, Inc...The label that signed this dynamic poet over 10 years ago while still a junior in high school. Just as the 20 year olds predicted...we have had such success with our downloads in iTunes. The new music model is such a win-win for all involved...especially the consumer. If you are 30 something you can remember going to the retail store and buying a CD because you liked the single on the radio only to find out that what you really had was a single that you paid twenty five dollars for. Unfortunately the industry fostered this environment...and now they are playing catch up to fix it. I would not be surprised to see Apple actually owning some or all of the major record companies in the not to far future.
