MESA, Ariz. — The Howdy Show’s fearless troupe leader, Kitty McGuire, is lacing up her running boots and gathering up her petticoats in preparation for the 12K’s of Christmas run in Gilbert this weekend. In the same way McGuire (played by Lisa Fogel of Scottsdale) reins in hungry ranchers at The Howdy Show, she will take charge of runners at the city’s first ever 12K’s of Christmas run, benefiting Maricopa County Animal Care & Control.
Kitty McGuire, or more simply known as “Miss Kitty,” is the Saloon-Mistress and leader of the pack in the all new Howdy Show and Dinner Extravaganza in Mesa. In the 90-minute dinner show, she leads a raucous 1880s musical troupe through Gold Rush mining towns. She is joined by a talented cast of performers who transform the show into one “rib ticklin’, knee slappin’, hand clappin” experience fun for all ages.
Miss Kitty is looking forward to kicking off the 1.2K fun run at 10 am on Saturday, Dec. 12 at Freestone District Park. This run/walk is for families, kids and their pets, with teams of four competing for prizes like the Best Decorated, Cutest Pet, and Most Christmas Spirit. There is also a 12K run in which every runner gets a Santa Hat and the best Christmas-themed running outfits compete for prizes. The event also features a Christmas Bazaar, live entertainment from local youth choirs and performing groups and a Santa’s Pet Village for pet adoptions.
Produced in partnership with Maricopa County Animal Care & Control, a portion of the proceeds from the event will benefit the organization’
