Swansea’s landmark venue is renowned for putting on excellent events over the Christmas period and this year is no different.
Messiah returns on Saturday 19 December at 7.30pm, and marks the 250th anniversary of Handel's death.
The performance will be conducted by John Hugh Thomas with Soprano Elin Manahan Thomas, Alto Rachael Lloyd, Tenor Robin Tritschler and Bass-baritone Darren Jeffery.
They will be joined by Sinfonia Britannica of London, a period instrument ensemble made up of some of the country's finest players, Swansea Bach and members of Côrdydd, whose conductor, Sioned James is a past member of the Bach Choir. Tickets are £10 – £20
Christmas in Swansea really wouldn't be the same without Christmas by Candlelight on Wednesday 23 December at 7.30pm.
Listen to a collection of music about Christmas introduced by Alwyn Humphreys with the Chamber Orchestra of Wales and guest soprano Ros Evans.
Have a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie as you settle down in your seat and enjoy the concert with the Brangwyn Hall lit only by flickering candlelight. Tickets are £11.50 and £9.50 concessions.
Tickets for both these events are available to buy from the Grand Theatre Box Office (01792 475715). Alternatively buy online at http://www.swansea.gov.uk/
