(DULUTH, Ga.) – Zoe Myers – a singer, songwriter and actress who grew up in Rome, Ga., and now lives in Los Angeles – will be returning to the Peach State for a benefit concert titled “PAWS for the New Year” slated for Wednesday night, Dec. 30, at 7 p.m., at the Red Clay Theater in Duluth. Proceeds from the event will go to benefit Southern HOPE Humane Society, a local pet adoption and spay/neuter group.
The evening will feature a silent auction, with many wonderful donated items. Tickets for the event are $10 (if bringing a pet toy or treat -- $15 without). Tickets may be purchased online, at www.redclaytheateronline.com.
Myers will headline the concert with young talent from across the Southeast, to include Stephanie Schecter, Alyssa Puckett (formerly of the girl group iCande), Jamison Tate, Kelly Johns, Annalise Morelli, Peyton Propst and Sophia Watson. The show will also feature The Memphis Rascals, Witt McKay (16) and Grant Vogelfanger (17), who made their national television debuts in 2007, on Showtime at the Apollo and America’s Got Talent, where they made it to the top 35 acts.
On New Year’s Eve, Myers will also be performing in the Peach Drop at Underground Atlanta, one of the largest New Year’s celebrations in the Southeast, with more than 100,000 visitors each year and millions more tuning in to watch on television. Myers’ music has a strong pop/dance sound with a young adult “club” vibe. She combines fashion, dance, fun and romance into her new songs Ride the Stars and Love Me or Hate Me.
Myers has opened for The Jonas Brothers (at the Rock-n-Fashion Show in Rome, Ga.) and has a song on the soundtrack of the Warner Brothers feature film The Utopian Society. She has performed for various charities and special events on both coasts.
Myers grew up in Georgia, where she modeled with Elite Models and starred in several regional musical theater productions in the Northwest part of the state. As an actress, she had a small role in the Columbia Pictures feature film ATL, which was shot in Atlanta and stars the rapper T.I. She played Jennifer in Dance of the Dead (Lions Gate) and had a part in Ghost House, which filmed at the old Coosa High School in Rome.
Myers can be seen in episodes of MTV’s House of Jazmin, starring her friend Jazmin Whitley. She has modeled for Whitley’s “Li Cari” clothing line, both in print and on the runway. She has also starred in several music videos for popular bands. She had a lead role in Simple Plan’s music video for When I’m Gone (which featured a cameo by Perez Hilton). She also scored a lead in A Skylit Drive’s Those Cannons Could Sink a Ship, and can be seen in videos for The Jonas Brothers, Raul Midon and The Rocket Summer.
