HOUSTON – Frustrated Houston dog owners need bark and beg no more. Chris Tucker, professional dog trainer and former UH Cougar football player, is expanding business under a new dog training brand: Dogs on Cue.
For 18 years the business was called Advanced Canine Concepts and focused on dog obedience training in Cypress, Tomball, The Woodlands and Katy. In launching the Dogs on Cue brand, Tucker is extending his territory to include Memorial, River Oaks, Midtown and The Heights, initially. Further growth is planned for Sugar Land and Southwest Houston as well as Clear Lake, Friendswood and Pearland. Eventually, Tucker will reach all of Greater Houston with his training and pet care services.
“Today, consumers have more dog training choices than ever before, but there are few well-mannered pets among course graduates,” said Tucker, who believes this relates directly to the methods employed by many trainers. “Until now, the Dogs on Cue model has not been available throughout the city. We’re excited to be able to provide more Houston-area dog owners with the opportunity to participate in our results-oriented training, which is guaranteed for the life of the pet.”
In keeping with this promise, Dogs on Cue maintains a business philosophy of “every dog can be trained.” “We focus intensely on the pet - owner connection to produce optimal results that can be used in everyday, real-world situations, and are proud of our ability to enhance relationships and produce happy dogs and owners,” said Tucker.
The Dogs on Cue training approach incorporates techniques built upon the laws of classical conditioning and theories of operant learning – a combination which affords Dogs on Cue unmatched expertise in the areas of dog obedience and behavior modification, according to Tucker. “Our goal is to make the AKC Canine Good Citizen test the basic standard for our student dogs. It provides a great foundation for our more challenging training offerings such as swimming and tricks,” said Tucker.
In addition to Dogs on Cue’s training services, Tucker has broadened his business to include pet sitting and dog walking under the complementary brand, On Cue Pet Care pet sitting. “With today’s busy lifestyles, it is important that we make our clients’ lives as simple as possible,” said Tucker. “These new services will provide our clients with a single, reliable resource for their training and sitting/walking needs.”
