Newton, Mass. – December 7, 2009 - XECAN, Inc. announced today the immediate availability of the XECAN RFID Oncology Clinic Solution. This state-of-the-
(1)Treatment procedure protocols are followed by RFID verification for placement of proper accessories such as protective shields for radiation therapy.
(2) Track patient flow and reduce waiting times for treatment by using RFID embedded patient wristbands.
(3)Optimization of asset management via real-time tracking and locating of equipment allows for the highest level of efficiency.
For the first time, XECAN RFID technology enables accessory verification for treatment devices never achieved before in radiation therapy. XECAN’s solution integrates with the existing EMR systems through RFID plug-in module, which extends the EMR systems capacities while not requiring any changes from the EMR systems. XECAN RFID readers are visually or physically non-intrusive concealed in the ceiling at various select locations throughout the clinic. They can read patients' wristbands and accessories within a range of 10-15'.
“XECAN RFID Oncology Clinic Solution was developed together with our healthcare clients to primarily improve patient safety." said Bin Yang, Managing Director of XECAN. "The solution is expected to deploy at dozens of oncology centers nationally next year. We intend to listen more from our customers while working with them to better serve their needs. "
A pilot with a major healthcare provider is being carried on at one oncology center in the Boston area. If you want to know more about the XECAN solution or visit the pilot site, please contact: info@xecan.com
