The CIM MultiEncoder is amongst the fastest and easiest to integrate contact chip and contactless chip personalization units on the market today. It is capable of encoding up to 3000 Smart Cards per hour.

The MultiEncoder can be configured with up to 16 independent chip stations, each station handles Contact or Contactless encoding on the fly depending on chip type or application. Data processing power is provided by a unique hardware layout that deploys multiple embedded PCs, an automation PC and a main controller unit with a GUI. The Smart Card application interface is based on XML RPC technology making integration with various operating systems and platforms a breeze.  Issuers and Personalization Bureaus alike will immediately realize the immense cost effectiveness and flexibility the MultiEncoder brings to their operations. With Smart Card issuance poised for continued growth in the US and Latin American markets, Issuers and Personalization Bureaus have to be ready for large scale issuance of EMV cards and Smart Cards in general (VISA Wave, Paypass).

The MultiEncoder is available as a self contained stand-alone unit or as a Premium Series integrated module. The MultiEncoder is a ‘must have unit’ by any Issuer or Personalization Bureau that is processing Smart Cards and the MultiEncoder will compliment their existing card personalization equipment setup regardless of brand or software architecture “You will be able to significantly reduce your setup time and increase your productivity by encoding up to 3000 chip cards per hour using the MultiEncoder, and at the same time optimize the use of your existing personalization equipment for the rest of the process (embossing, topping, card delivery etc)” says Mads Petersen, Executive Vice President at CIM USA Inc.

One of the greatest advantages to the MultiEncoder is that it has been designed with a completely open and modular Smart Card application software architecture allowing development of applications and Smart Card  personalization using a complete set of object oriented libraries based on the Java environment.

CIM designed the MultiEncoder to provide the market with an ‘open’, flexible and cost effective solution to personalize Contact and Contactless Smart Cards at high speeds. A typical EMV chip profile can take up to 30 seconds to encode on a commonly used device. The MultiEncoder will execute and complete the encoding process in approximately 2 seconds.
