Dec. 6, 2009 - PRLog -- New England Wedding DJ Ra-Mu from Ra-Mu and the Crew entertains at  alot of weddings.  From March until November every year, Ra-Mu is booked solidly all throughout the New England region.  During this time, Ra-Mu has the pleasure of entertaining crowds of all ethnicities and backgrounds.  Usually, musical variety accompanies these receptions and the vast knowledge of various genres of music is the key to sucess.

"I've had an interesting run in this wedding DJ business", says Ra-Mu.  "In order to be booked every weekend, your musical library to go beyond just "Loveshack" and "Footloose."

Ra-Mu gets alot of calls from African-American, Latino, Indian, and Asian brides, as well as Caucasian brides.  One of their first questions is "Do you have our music?"

"This summer we did a Haitain wedding in which we played all Zouk and Kompa", stated Ra-Mu.  "I'm not Haitain but I have done many events over the years that have prepared me for that type of event.  The week after that we did a wedding in which 80% of the playlist was Merengue, Salsa, and Bachata catering to our clients needs.  Once more, I'm not Latino but I used to DJ a Latin club night in Worcester many years ago that has prepared me for diverse weddings such as these."

As people continue to get married, couples may not always be as homogenous as decades past.  I am seeing a rise in interracial couples which bring a unique quality to the reception music playlist.

"One wedding from two years ago was a cross between big band standards,  country, and hip-hop.  The Bride wanted to hear "O.P.P", the groom wanted to hear Kenny Chesney, and the parents wanted to hear Frank Sinatra and motown."

"I love the diversity today", says Ra-Mu.  "When I first started DJ'ing weddings 14 years ago, some of my crowds looked as diverse as a Jimmy Buffet concert", chuckles Ra-Mu.  "It's nice to hear a little "flava" once in a while.

Need "flava" and music diversity at your next wedding reception.  Call Ra-Mu and the Crew today.
