Amantha Imber, Rachel Thompson, Shannon Dolan, and Guy Inbar were awarded $10,000 worth of services from Kingston Development to develop and implement their Real Estate Monkey IPhone application. The project aims at addressing the gaps in the services offered by real estate portals, supporting potential home buyers or renters with a means to make personalised notes and compare houses or flats of interest.
MEGA (Mobile Enterprise Growth Alliance) is a ground-breaking masterclass initiative developed by industry, education and government to drive business innovation and entrepreneurship. It enables selected participants from the mobile, digital content and ICT industries build and apply their creative, technical and business skills for the global market, through introducing them to a range of mentors, specialist knowledge providers, and start-up assistance programs across Australia. The program is held in Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. In each city participants form project teams and, guided by industry representatives and mentors, develop and pitch new mobile products and services to investors, buyers, and business identities at a high profile Pitch Day.
Over 60 of Australia's finest talented creative, technical and business people were selected this year to participate in the MEGA program in NSW and Victoria. After fine-tuning their business ideas over the following 5 months, 13 Melbourne teams staged their presentations on Wednesday, 25 November, before a panel of leading industry experts. The presentations were judged in terms of their pitching quality and the potential for the project to succeed.
